Perch Lake Waterfowl Production Area
Located three miles southwest of the City of Beauford and 13 miles south of Mankato, Perch Lake is one of a handful of lakes designated by state law for management by the Minnesota DNR.
In 2009, The Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Trust, Inc. completed the purchase and habitat restoration of 300 acres on Perch Lake, an important migratory waterfowl lake in Blue Earth County.
An additional 100-acre parcel, acquired by the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Trust on the northwest side of Perch Lake, includes the lake’s outlet which is important to the ability of the Minnesota DNR to manage the lake.
Minnesota Pheasants, Inc. – Blue Earth County Chapter along with other partners, provided funding support for the restoration work on this unit.

Perch Lake WPA was included in this grant and received approximately 176 acres of tree removal. The unit will receive on-going maintenance.
