Duckhaven Wildlife Management Area

Duckhaven Wildlife Management Area is located 1.25 miles west of the city of St. Clair.  From St. Clair, take highway 15 west approximately 1.25 miles then 2.75 south on County Road 174 (southwest of Rice Lake).  This 40 acre WMA consist primarily of emergent wetlands and a smaller upland component.

 

In 2012, in cooperation with the Minnesota DNR, MPI participated in a restoration project on Duckhaven WMA.  A controlled burn was performed in the spring, followed by herbicide application.  A native grass and forb mix was planted mid-summer.
