The Evans Slough Wildlife Management Area (165 acres), adjacent to the Evans Slough Waterfowl Productions Area, is located approximately 6 miles west of Vernon Center on County State Highway 10 – then 1.5 miles south on County State Highway 32 then 1/2 mile west on County Road 137.

In 2006, Minnesota Pheasants, Inc. – Blue Earth County Chapter purchased the “Ikier” tract for approximately $120,000.00. This 80 acre addition brings the total available acreage at the WMA to 165. Including the adjacent Evans Slough WPA, the total ground available for public hunting is approximately 305 acres.

In 2011 & 2012, MPI restored two food plots on the Evans Slough WMA. This is intended to be an on-going project.

In 2020, Minnesota Pheasants, Inc. applied for and was awarded an Enhanced Public Land restoration grant to perform volunteer tree removal on approximately 800-acres on several Minnesota DNR Wildlife Management Areas & U.S. Fish & Wildlife Waterfowl Production Units in Blue Earth County. Evans Slough WMA was included in this grant and received approximately 160 acres of tree removal. The unit will receive on-going maintenance.
